The Compliance Program Manager (d/f/m) will play an important role in developing and managing key elements of our global compliance program at Leica. This role is responsible for continuously improving compliance systems, procedures and controls to assure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements and fostering a culture of ethical business practices. This role will oversee compliance programs and projects, including third party due diligence management, developing and implementing policies and procedures, training and communications, compliance monitoring and remediation and establishing key performance indicators and management reporting processes.
The Compliance Program Manager (d/f/m) will perform a wide variety of hands-on Compliance work, business advisory as well as Compliance program development. The holder of the position reports directly to Leica’s Global Compliance Director located in Wetzlar or Mannheim and will be on-site role.It is a temporary role to cover maternity leave, with a duration of 18 months.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and standards, ensuring they are up to date with current laws, regulations, and industry best practices;
Stay informed about changes in regulatory requirements and assess their impact on the organization; oversee regular risk assessment processes to identify potential compliance issues and areas for improvement, develop and implement strategies to mitigate compliance risks, and monitor and report on the effectiveness of compliance controls and initiatives.
Further development of Leica’s compliance monitoring and auditing program to assess compliance with policies and regulations.
Promote awareness of compliance issues and foster a culture of ethical behaviour through compliance training and awareness programs.
Oversee compliance aspects of third-party business partner management and conduct due diligence and ensure third parties adhere to the company's compliance standards.
The essential requirements of the job include:
At least 5 years of global compliance experience in life sciences, health care, and/or other highly regulated industries.
Business minded. A positive, energetic, self-motivated personality, able to explain complex compliance topics to business leaders with varying degrees of sophistication about compliance matters; able to take business leaders’ concerns and demands into account in how best to pursue compliant strategies. Intelligent and articulate with excellent written and verbal communication skills; nimble and quick-minded; able and willing to engage in debate.
A team player who can command the respect of, and influence, business leaders across a wide spectrum of experience and sophistication.
High integrity and ethics in all dealings – internal, external and personal; non-political in conduct, while understanding internal and external dynamics. Able to refuse to accept, and to correct unethical conduct or outcomes that threaten the business.
Excellent written and oral communication skills with a wide variety of audiences, including senior management and a proven ability to engage, influence and align with multiple stakeholders.
Fluency in English.
