The Technical Writer for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for writing, formating, producing, and revising technical documentation for existing product lines and new product development in our Content Management System (CMS). You will work as a member of project teams in an Agile development environment, and collaborate with Software Developers, Engineers, Technical Support, Project Managers, Product Managers, Regulatory Compliance, Quality Assurance, and other members of the team to gather information and obtain approval.
This position is part of the Technical Documentation department located in Munich and will be on site. This is a temporary position for 2 years.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Ensure quality and technical accuracy of content and compliance with regulatory requirements
Communicate project status and issues to Technical Publications Project Manager and/or Core Teams, Project Management, Analysts, Technical Writers, Coordinators, Management, and other stakeholders, as required
Read, understand, and follow documentation and department procedures, including global procedures
Ensure that skills are maintained on a continual basis to support Technical Publications activities and objectives, and participate in process improvement efforts
Adhere to the company’s Style Guide, terminology guidelines, and relevant best-practice guidelines
Define appropriate multimedia (such as 2D figures, 3D animation, photos, videos, screenshots) for accompanying written documentation
Provide support for the Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs processes that the team adheres to
The essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, English, Journalism, or related field and relevant experience, especially in the medical device field.
Excellent communication, writing, and grammar skills in the English language at the native-speaker level (German and or other language skills are a plus)
Ability to manage complex projects independently and collaborate with subject matter experts
Ability to create documentation for automated medical laboratory equipment (both hardware and software)
Experience with or fundamental knowledge of CMSs, XML, and DITA
It would be a plus if you also have experience in the following:
Experience with the following: SDL TriSoft, XMetal, Acrolinx, Illustrator, working in an Agile Development process
Ability to prioritize work effectively and react appropriately in a dynamic work environment for completing deliverables on time
Experience in, and know-how of, terminology management
Ability to work and flourish in a diverse, multinational R&D environment
