As part of our multi-national team, you will be designing, developing, and maintaining secure, efficient and reliable Java and Python code for a sophisticated software environment in the space domain. The position includes developing software supporting cybersecurity monitoring of space and ground segment components. As member of a cybersecurity team with excellent expertise in both software development and space, you will get the opportunity to develop your career. You help us to identify bottlenecks as well as bugs, and devise solutions to these problems by assuring the functionality of the systems. You will help maintaining the code quality, organization, and automation. You will translate the customer needs into delivered features, and become proficient in estimating and defining your future tasks. What You Will Focus on Design, develop, document and test software in Java and Python for cybersecurity monitoring applications in a space environment. What You Bring Degree or equivalent in computer science or similar scientific cursus. You have proficiency in Java and Python, with fair knowledge of the corresponding language specifications and with design, development and testing experience. You know how to use the standard template library and its containers. You know object orientation, and can draw and understand class diagrams in UML. You are familiar with development tools such as debuggers, profilers, and tracing utilities. You are excellent at problem solving, with a logical and pragmatic demeanour. You are familiar with development of secure software and DevSecOps. You are a team player Proficiency in spoken and written English Experience with more sophisticated elements of software development would be an asset: Development of secure software following DevSecOps practices Linux command line, Source Code Control System (Git), Maven Debugging of code, static and dynamic code analysis Experience in continuous integration processes and tools Knowledge of automated testing Experience with application integration and RESTful APIs Experience to work with Agile Software Development methodology *in this position you can work mainly remote (home-office) within Germany (any location) with occasionally travel to Darmstadt (Frankfurt am Main area).
