Then be our new Project lead (m/f/d) Genetics of in vivo Haploid Induction of KWS SAAT SE & Co. KGaA at our headquarter in Einbeck, Germany. The contract will be full-time and permanent. As a member of the R&D Department Molecular Technologies, you will get the opportunity to step in as a project lead and become responsible for the identification, development and implementation of state-of-the-art approaches and solutions to improve the production of double haploid (DH) lines in diverse KWS crops. In your function as a project lead you will work closely together with our DH development and production team, the breeding departments as well as with external cooperators and advisors. Develop and lead research projects to identify and functionally validate genetic components which promote in vivo haploid induction in diverse KWS crops. Manage project goals, prioritize duties to complete tasks in an effective and efficient manner, adapt approaches to match shifting demands. Pro-active and independent planning and execution of experiments, interpretation of obtained results and communication to relevant stakeholders. Actively screen for relevant literature and emerging technologies in the area of in vivo haploid induction, support IP strategies and patent filings. Build and keep connections to the relevant internal and external expert community and participate in scientific conferences or workshops. Lead and manage a team of Technicians/Research Associates, enabling team members to grow in accordance with the Company competence model and talent management. Create an engaging climate, provide direction, delegate, remove obstacles, and distribute assignments maintaining dialogue regarding work and results. PhD or equivalent qualification plus at least 2 years of additional professional experience in a Life Science discipline, ideally with experience in double haploids and plant cell biology. High level of knowledge and expertise in the areas of haploid induction, plant reproductive biology or cytogenetics. Demonstrated ability to recognize scientific or technological problems and directly contribute to problem solving and innovation to overcome obstacles. Experiences in independently plan, execute and evaluate scientific projects. Solid analytical skills, integration of scientific and non-scientific aspects into optimized and risk-balanced work packages. Experiences in leading a team is a plus. Demonstrated ability to efficiently setup and expand research networks, foster scientific exchange and cooperations. Pro-active and open-minded work attitude, very strong communication skills, demonstrated ability to work as part of a team for collaborative success. Being open and curious to broaden the scope and to actively reach out to new scientific areas. Fluent English skills, basic knowledge of German is an advantage.
