KGaA located in Einbeck, Germany. Develop and lead multi-disciplinary projects in the field of herbicide resistance in KWS crops Combine your own expertise and knowledge, literature mining, emerging technologies, and cooperation partners in the area of herbicides, resistance mechanisms and weed management to develop hypotheses or new Modes of Action for project proposals Manage project goals, prioritize duties to complete tasks in an effective and efficient manner, adapt approaches to match shifting demands Design and implement innovative approaches for functional validation of resistance mechanisms in vitro and in vivo Support IP strategies and patent filings Interact with technology development, breeding, breeding stations, coordinate trials, phenotyping and data management Lead a team and work synergistically across different teams Build and keep connections to the relevant internal and external expert community and participate in scientific conferences or workshops Create an engaging climate, provide direction, delegate, remove obstacles, and distribute assignments maintaining dialogue regarding work and results PhD or equivalent qualification in Biochemistry, Plant Biology, Agricultural Sciences, or related disciplines with substantial recent experience in either industry or academia Strong background in herbicide tolerant weeds and/or crops, plant physiology and genetics Experience with state of the art technologies of screening and target identification of herbicide resistance mechanisms Know-how of mode of action research in herbicide tolerance, protein biology, phenotyping technologies and handling of data sets Demonstrated leadership skills and business orientation Pro-active and open-minded work attitude, very strong communication skills, demonstrated ability to work as part of a team for collaborative success Curiosity and strong self-motivation to learn and develop Fluent English skills, basic German is desirable Willingness to travel internationally As a family-run company we are guided by the values of closeness, reliability, foresight and independence; this culture is lived in practice creating thus an open and friendly working atmosphere.
